Date: The statue was originally completed in 1973 for the Endeavour Hills Housing estate but was later installed in Fitzroy Gardens in July, 1997.

Commissioned by: Endeavour Hills Housing Estate.

Location: Outside Captain Cook's Cottage in Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne, Australia.

History of the Capatin Cook Statue: The statue was originally commissioned by the Endeavour Hills Housing Estate. However in 1997 the statue was donated to the City of Melbourne and placed outside Cook's Cottage in July of the same year.

Thought to Ponder: Do you think Captain Cook would have preferred his statue to be displayed at a housing estate or outside his cottage, in a park (which was transferred brick by brick from England) ?
