Description: A stone drinking fountain erected in honour of Inspector  who established the first surf lifesaving movement in Western Australia in 1909 .

Date Unveiled: The Inspector Smith memorial was unveiled by the Governor, Sir William Campion on a Sunday afternoon in 1931.

Funded by: The Inspector J Smith Memorial drinking fountain was funded by donations from the Royal Life-Saving Society of Western Australia, the West Australian Amateur Swimming Association, The WA Surf Life-Saving Association, The St.John Ambulance Association, The WA Police Union, and the Municipality of Cottesloe.

Location: The Inspector Smith Memorial is located outside the Indiana Tea Room, on Marine Parade, Cottesloe, Western Australia.
