Date unveiled: The memorial to Thomas Laycock Jr was unveiled by his great-great grandson on on Australia Day, 26th January,1993.

Location: The memorial plaque to Thomas Laycock Jr is located in the village green (Victoria Square), Longford, Tasmania.

Inscription:

The first recorded visit of Europeans to this area was that of
Lieut. Thomas Laycock Jr
and four soldiers of the 102nd, N.S.W.Army corps
on 3rd of February, 1807.

Norfolk Plains National Trust Group
and unveiled by
K.G. Laycock,
Great-great Grand son of above,
on Australia Day, 26th January,1993.
