Plumb Bob In Janus Head

Public Art : Plumb Bob In Janus Head aka Janus
Head
Sculptors/Artists : © Larry Kirkland and Robert
Murase
Date : Unknown
Description : A large granite sculpture of a
Janus Head, which features two heads, one facing west, the other facing east. The two faces are intended
to remind us that we must look to the past as well as the future (very Zen). Suspended in between the two heads is
a (cast bronze) golden plumb-bob. Ok, for all of those who aren't familiar with workman's tools, a plumb bob
is a tool used by builders to establish a true vertical. Symbolically the plumb bob represents the
beginning of “where a city is built.”
Location : Outside the Wellington Webb Building,
Denver, Colorado.
