Description: Australian war hero Sir Edward 'Weary' Dunlop was honored by this bronze statue following his death in  1993. The statue depicts an older 'Weary" in a "civilian" suit, proudly wearing a red painted poppy on his lapel. A hat hangs in his left hand. The sculpture also includes metal spikes that were used in the Burma-Thailand railway.

Date Unveiled: The Weary Dunlop statue was unveiled by Premier Jeff Kennett on 15th of August 1995.
