United Buddy Bears

"United Buddy Bears" were created in 2002 by the couple Eva and Klaus Herlitz of Germany to promote love, diversity and harmony. They invited 120 artists from different countries to design the bears - each shows a particular art style of each country.

Superstar Jackie Chan got to know the adorable bears when he was filming in Germany. He was so impressed by the message it delivers and decided to bring the meaningful exhibition to Hong Kong.

The United Bears have raised over HK$4,800,000 in donation in Hong Kong . Beneficaries include UNICEF, Community Chest and Jackie Chan Chartiable Foundation.

Buddy Bear Trivia: In 2004 the United Buddy Bear world tour arrived in Hong Kong. The upright bears were displayed “hand in hand” in an enormous circle in Victoria Park. Among the guests was the patron of the Hong Kong exhibition, the world famous actor Jackie Chan.

Since the bears first appeared in 2002 over 30 million people have viewed them.
