Description : A bronze sculpture of an Australian soldier directing a helicopter in to land to pick up a wounded soldier, who lies at his feet.

Date Unveiled : The Vietnam Memorial was unveiled on the 23rd of April, 1988.

This memorial commemorates those Australians and Allies who died or served during the war in Vietnam from 1962-1973.
Unveiled by the honourable Sir Walter Cambell QC Governor of Queensland on the 23rd of April 1988.


Vietnam Memorial

This site is dedicated to a memorial to be erected in honour of those Australian and Allies who died or suffered as a result of service in South Vietnam 1962-1973.
This polaque was unveiled by His Excellency Honourable Sir Walter Cambell QC Governor of Queensland on the twentieth anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan 18th August, 1986.
