Public Art in Parkville

Parkville is an inner suburb of Melbourne and has a diverse collection of statues, sculptures, and monuments. Parkville is bordered by North Melbourne to the south-west, Carlton and Carlton North to the south and east, Brunswick to the north and Flemington to the west. The suburb is home to Royal Park, Royal Melbourne Zoological Gardens, the University of Melbourne and Monash University. The University of Melbourne was the first institution erected in the area in 1853. During World War I and II, Royal Park was the site of military encampments.
