Description: The Wending Our Way sculpture pays homage to the humble wooden oar. It is appropraitely located next to the Swan River Rowing Club in Applecross. The sculpture features 5 wooden oars made from 5 different types of wood ; Jarrah, Lemon Scented Gum, Sugar Gum, Marri and Cedar. Strips of copper decorate the oars. 

Date Unveiled: 2013

Location: The Wending Our Way sculpture is located next to the Swan River Rowing Club and Canning Bridge in Applecross, Western Australia. If you happen to be in the area don’t forget to look up the light poles because you may find a sleeping pelican, it is their favourite perch in Perth.

Inscription:

This sculpture pays homage to a wonderful simple objectthat has stood the test of time and modern technological advances. The copper symnolises water and the action of the oars cutting the surface.
