Iceland is a sparsely populated Nordic island country in North Atlantic. Despite the occasional disruptive volcanic activity, Iceland can boast being the 9th most developed country in the world, running almost completely on renewable energy. Tourists flock to this unique area that to see the lava fields and glaciers, and to take a dip in the thermal pools. The people of Iceland are mostly descendants of Norse and Gaelic settlers.
