Public Art In Lima

Lima is the capital city of Peru and was founded by Spanish conquistador Francisco Pizarro on January 18, 1535. It was then known as la Ciudad de los Reyes, or “the City of Kings”. Many of the statues and monuments erected around the city are dedicated to heroic figures who fought for Peru’s independence.
