Public Art In Naberezhnye Chelny
Naberezhnye Chelny lies on the Kama River and is the second largest city in the Republic of Tatarstan in Russia. Despite it being founded in 1626, Naberezhnye Chelny was only granted town status in 1930. From 1982 to 1988 it was known as Brezhnev, named after Leonid Brezhnev who was the was the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1964-1982. The city is famous for the manufacture of Kamaz and ZMA trucks with the Kamaz plant being the largest vehicle factory in the world.
