Public Art in Hyden

Public Art in Hyden is probably the second most exciting thing besides Wave Rock in the small town of Hyden, in the Central Wheatbelt region of Western Australia. In August 2003 the Hyden Progress Association applied and was granted funding from Country Arts WA for a public art project. The project included the communities of Hyden, Kondinin, and Karlgarin.

Hyden’s public Art project centred around “Hyden People: Then and Now”. With the help of professional artists Kath Wheatley and Richard Fry, the locals decided on a scrap metal design. If you pass through Hyden don’t forget to stop and have a break and enjoy the People of Hyden sculptures. It will leave a smile on your face.
