Date Unveiled: The Maassen Paulche statue was unveiled in November 2000
Description: The bronze life-size figure of Maassen Paulche (1856-1940) was a well-known travelling door to door salesman who sold Haberdashery in Monschau area. Paulche is depicted, immaculately dressed in a suit, with cap on head, scarf around neck and a walking stick in hand. Slung across his shoulder is his bag full of his products.

I visited Monschau in 2008. I mentioned the statue of Maasens Päulche in a book I am writing. I would like to know if he died naturally or was deported to a concentration camp?
