Public Art in Thale

Between Wernigerode and Quedlinburg in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt, lies the little village of Thale in a stunning river gorge. German poets, Goethe, Heine, Klopstock and Fontane had all at one stage visited the area and been inspired by its beauty. One of the most loved pieces of public art in Thale is the Witch sculpture with a mouse on her shoulder.
