Kamakura is a beautiful seaside city located about 50 km (31 miles) from Tokyo. Kamakura is famous for its Buddhist temples and in particular Kōtoku-in where the “great Buddha” Diabutsu sits. The Amida Buddha is one of Japan’s most famous icons.
